The Lennox 11W50 is a limit control, which is a safety device installed in different Lennox HVAC products such as furnaces and air handlers. It controls temperature and halts operation at a certain temperature the operator sets as the maximum temperature for the system. This auto shut-down function minimizes the occurrence of overheating some of the internal components of the system that may cause the whole system to fail. It has a variable temperature control between 140°F and 170°F to suit the equipment. The control acts as a safeguard of the system by shutting down the system during overheating situations, which helps prevent the HVAC equipment from expensive damages and unsafe operations
